San Bernardo 86 is the result of a complete renovation of an early 20th-century building in the heart of Madrid, a property that had remained abandoned for more than fifteen years before being carefully brought back to life.
The project involved a comprehensive transformation of the building, combining structural reorganisation with a deep respect for its historical and architectural heritage. Original elements such as the woodwork, proportions, and the staircase balustrade were meticulously restored and integrated into a renewed spatial narrative.
Each floor was conceived as a distinct universe, with its own character and identity, yet all levels are intrinsically connected. Together, they complement one another and tell a coherent story — a dialogue between history and contemporary living.
Every space was drawn and designed in detail, with a strong focus on natural light, material quality, and craftsmanship. The goal was to create interiors that feel warm and intimate while embracing a bold, timeless aesthetic, offering a sophisticated way of living in the center of Madrid.
Custom-designed pieces coexist with carefully selected furniture and artworks, reinforcing the balance between past and present. The result is a refined residential experience where architecture, light, and atmosphere come together to preserve the soul of the building while adapting it to modern life.
